Metroid Dread does have several cheats related to Nintendo’s Metroid-related Amiibos, one of which is a tie-in for Metroid Dread. The others are not, such is the case with the Super Smash Bros.-branded Amiibos. In addition to looking great, Amiibos also provide a cheat (of sorts) in the game when they’re scanned. Here’s what to do with them in order to get the best cheats in Metroid Dread.
The Best Metroid Dread Cheats
Depending on the Metroid-related Amiibos you own, there is a special in-game bonus you’re awarded for giving them a scan. Some can be used multiple times; otherwise it’s simply a one-time use. It’s a great resource to have when you’re taking on Dread Mode.

Once per day, you can scan it again to restore 200 health. To earn a free, permanent Missile Tank upgrade, scan the Metroid Dread E.M.M.I Amiibo. Once per day, you can scan it again to replenish 30 Missiles. To replenish 200 Energy, scan the Samus Aran (Metroid), Samus and Zero Suit Samus (Super Smash Bros.) Amiibos. This can be used once per day.To replenish 30 Missiles, scan the Metroid (Metroid branded), Risley and Dark Samus (Super Smash Bros.) Amiibos. This can be used one per day.
And there you have it, as close as you can get to the best cheats in Metroid Dread. The more useful cheats are certainly the tie-ins. Those upgrades are permanent, giving you altogether more health and missiles to obliterate enemies with. Why not get an idea of how long it takes to beat? Or perhaps you’re on the fence about purchasing the game; in that case, there’s always our review of Metroid Dread.
